I hope it’s visible, you could click to enlarge if you want to. It’s basically 2 rows of very tiny diamonds with a slightly larger diamond in the center.
This is my Mangalsutra, another essential in a Hindu wedding (except South India, I think). I also spend a lot of time getting the correct one.
I just thought I would do a quick post before rushing out again. How are you all?

Your ring is beautiful, Violet! As is the Mangalsutra.
That’s a beautiful ring, Violet! The Mangalsutra looks lovely too!
That’s a beautiful ring, Violet! I echo Wendy and Melody on the Mangalsutra as well!
They’re both very pretty! Isn’t the ring platinum? You’re lucky!
nah…it’s gold. I have heard comments like ‘is it silver?’ for platinum, so I didn’t want to take any chances, better stick with gold
Gorgeous! Thanks for the update.
Beautiful ring..And the mangalsutra is a requisite in South India too
No exceptions dear
Nice, very nice ! The mangalsutra only looks different amongst South Indians.. It is the most important ritual of the wedding all India.
Shona: Janaki: Thanks for letting me know, I guess I got confused with the gold chain South Indian’s wear.
Beautiful! I’m pleased to hear that preparations are coming along well – you seem to be making some great choices!
Thank you so much for sharing. I love seeing things like this. I’m looking forward to your wedding pictures, too.
And where are the pics of the saris and all that?! God ain’t the date kind of very close!
The ring is b’ful.. and I love your hands, ong fingers and all that… mine are horrible
OoH! And in S Indian weddings, we have “tali” and is threaded to a silk thread that the guy puts on the wedding day and then on the 3ed day we transfer the tali to another chain. The tali in Kerala is basically a leaf kind of small locket.
haha…you are not going to get the sari pics, you have to see them in my wedding pics
I have seen the tale on one of my friends and it really is beautiful
It’s lovely!
xx
That’s gorgeous! Congratulations!
Both are beautiful!
Beautiful ring and Mangalsutra!
BTW, I wear 2 pairs of platinum studs on my ears. And if anyone says “are those silver?” I simply smile and don’t answer. I know those are platinum and thats what is important. Go for what you wish for or like. Not what othes might think!
My two penny bit!
If I would have wished for platinum badly I would have gone for it no matter what
But I am partial to gold too. Besides, there’s hardly anything visible other than the diamonds, making it in platinum looked like waste of money to me.
Gorgeous!
Aw – congratulations
Nice.. though your mangalsutra looks like it’d go around your neck twice!!
Nope, it looks like that in the pic, in fact it is very small, just short of being a choker
Where art thou? We were to meet, my wife and all
Anyways have fun with the wedding and in S’pore.. if I’m dropping by on the way to the US will definitely ping you..
It’s beautiful!
The ring is really pretty! And mangalsutra is prevalent among South Indians too, isn’t it? It’s actually not common among Bengalis; I haven’t seen any Bengali wearing it.
Beautiful!!!!!!!
Beautiful! Can’t wait to see a picture of the mangalsutra on you!
South Indians use mangalsutras, too
Well, probably not the Christian ones. Both ring and necklace are gorgeous! So excited for you
Very pretty! It occurs to me I never posted pictures of my ring and mangalsutra, but it’s probably too late now!
Your ring is beautiful. I hope all is well.
Your ring is beautiful! Happy 1st anniversary soon! I think you were married a few days before Ian and I.
