Massive Book Haul, In my Mailbox/ Monday Mailbox or Library Loot

My First Vlog ever…It’s funny talking to a Camera but it is what it is.

If you want to know the Library books I borrowed, please skip to the 7th Minute.
I’m posting everything together because I’m not sure I’ll have time on Monday and since there wont be any new books in the house until Sunday, it doesn’t matter.

Let me know what you think of it.

Monday Mailbox or In My Mailbox

I usually don’t do this meme but I was so excited this week that I had to share it with everyone. I have been reading Nora Roberts for a long time. Lisa Kleypas, I started reading around 3-4 years back but I love her equally. Having not read any of their books for some time now I decided enough was enough. So while I was browsing at work, I ended up at the bookdepository and before I knew it I had ordered not one, not two but 7 books. They all arrived in perfect condition. So here is my loot

I ordered the Kate Morton book (the distant Hours) because I absolutely loved The Forgotten Garden and couldn’t wait to read this. I’ve already read Tempt Me At Twilight and loved it.

Also, remember I mentioned once that my husband made a book shelf out of a shoe stand and a few of you wanted to see how it turned out? So here it is

Book Loot or Monday Mailbox

Looks like all I’m doing lately is buying more books and reading very less. Although I do manage to read regularly even if it’s not much, I still don’t feel a lot guilty about buying a lot of books. Just last weekend I went to this MPH warehouse sale to have a look. But you know how it goes, I ended up buying these books. Most of them were on my Wishlist so I’m quite happy čÖé

On a normal day I would list down all the books with the Amazon links but today I’m way too tired. Why don’t you just enlarge the pic and let me know if you’ve read any or looking forward to read any? Pretty please?

Book Loot aka Monday Mailbox

I am writing a Monday mailbox post today itself instead of Monday.

I had an awesome book month (February). I bought a few books at the Border clearance sale last weekend. They are not really very cheap if you convert them to Rupees but as far as Singapore Dollars are concerned, they are pretty cheap and I have to learn to not convert Dollars to Rupees every time I shop. The best part was I got a lot of books that were already on my Wishlist. Here are the books

expand for a close up

Lost in the Jungle by Yossi Ghinsberg
Map of Ireland by Stephanie Grant
The confession of Fitzwilliam Darcy by Mary Street
Bone China by Roma Tearne
Skin by Mo Hayder
The Lace Reader by Brunonia Berry
Steve & Me by Terri Irwin
Life to Tell by Immaculee Ilibagiza
Into the Beaituful North by Luis Alberto Urrea
The Wish Maker by Ali Sethi

At the beginning of February I went to my favorite second hand bookshop and bought a few books
as well. They are each under $3.

The Lake of Dead Languages by Carol Goodman
Bound by Napoli
AK by Peter Dickinson
A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’engle
Beijing Doll by Chun Sue
Falling Leaves by Adeline Yen Mah
The Flame Tree by Yang-May Ooi
The Haunting Hour by R.L.Stine

I also got a handy pouch from the Borders sale. I don’t know what it’s meant to be used for but I will use it as a makeup pouch as most of my make up fits in pretty well and its fold-able too. It’s not very pretty looking but I love it anyway.

I got 2 books for review

Madame Tussaud by Michelle Moran and
Amazir by Tom Gamble

How have you all been? What books came into your house?

Mailbox Monday

I was half way through the last day of BBAW post when the internet stopped working. It started working only the next day and by then I had lost all interest. But I did enjoy reading everyone’s goals for the next year.

Anyway, to get over the disappointment I went to a used bookstore and bought 5 books. Obviously I have to share them with you and what better than Mailbox Monday. (hosted this month by Kathy)

Misery by Stephen King: I have been wanting to read more Stephen King
Dance With a Poor Man’s Daughter Pamela Jooste: Loved the cover and the summary at the back of the book.

The Concubines Children by Denise Chong: It’s a memoir, based in China and the US.
The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan: I’ve heard a lot about this book and the author, but I have feeling I might have read something by this author. Maybe I just have one of her books in my TBR.

Safe Harbour by Luanne Rice: A Romance

Have you read any of these books? How about Luanne Rice. I know she is a well known author but I haven’t read anything by her.

What came into your house this Monday?
